Jump into Season 3 here:

Exploring the start of S3, Britt and Chris laugh over bunny texting, Quentin and Julia's 'dance' number, and their favorite Questing Beast, the Great Cock! 🦚 They also discuss Quentin showing a bit of growth, the theme of heroes and quests, and the POVs of Julia, Penny, and Josh.

Britt and Chris explore the new Tale of the Seven Keys, along with the Muntjac, After Island, and the Earth kids scrambling for magic batteries. They also discuss Professor Lipson's despair at the dying of the light, and the POVs of Eliot and Quentin.

For The Losses of Magic, Britt and Chris discuss Pirates! on the scene, the electrocuting Quinns, and Kady and Julia summoning demon Asteroth to save Penny. They take time to sit with the perspectives of Penny as he dies, Margo as she talks to the Muntjac, and Alice and her mother Stephanie as they struggle with great losses.

There are so many laughs to be had discussing Be the Penny, including all the ridiculousness that is Hyman Cooper, Uncle Eliot asking for sparkling water after escaping cannibals, and Penny yelling, "Appreciate me!" Britt and Chris also talk about continuing themes of agency and parent-child relationships, and explore the POVs of Kady and, of course, the Penny.

For A Life in the Day, Britt and Chris of course explore the Queliot #peachesandplums time line quite a bit. 🍑 They also discuss Margo's marriage, Kady locked away in the hospital, Julia's disturbing magic source, and the striking conversation Jane and Margo have in the Clock Barrens.

For Do You Like Teeth, Britt and Chris discuss everything from Penny being the singing fish, to a hedge fund Incubus, to Queliot post-Time Key timeline. They also go in-depth with the major theme of depression in The Abyss, and explore the POVs of Penny, Julia, and Dean Fogg.

For Poached Eggs, Britt and Chris discuss Penny and Kady's chemistry, Prince Fomar's bedtime stories, and Margo's commitment to being Queen. They also sit with the POVs of Penny, Alice, and Eliot, and think about the theme of needing time to heal.

For Six Short Stories About Magic, Britt and Chris explore the budding Penny/Benedict relationship, Eliot saying he hates Fillory, and the Underworld Library. They also discuss themes of loneliness and quest formulas, and think about the POVs of Harriet, Zelda, Alice, and Benedict.

Britt and Chris laugh their way through the long-anticipated All That Josh episode! 🤗 [jazz hands] They talk about the amazing musical numbers, features of Josh's pocket party world, and Eliot and Margo's wombat judge sentencing. They also explore the POVs of Kady and Quentin, as well as the theme of not leaving people behind while on a mission.

Britt and Chris discuss Penny being popular in the Underworld (we want to be in a book club with him, too, Howard!), the Fairy Queen's decisions to break the McAllister fairy deals, and the continuation of the journey Julia started in Season 1. They also explore the unique POVs of Penny, Alice, and Quentin.

Penny and Marina are back, so Britt and Chris couldn't be more thrilled! They have a blast discussing the 23rd time line, character differences between 23 and 40, and Marina's iconic insults. They also compare Beast-Quentin with Martin Chatwin, and explore the POVs of Josh/DickJosh, Penny23, and ever-gracious Julia.

For The Fillorian Candidate, Britt and Chris discuss the amazing election in Fillory, Eliot trying to be a supportive dad, how Penny23 fits into the group, and the scene where Julia and Kady confront Reynard. They also do a deep dive into the POVs of Kady, Quentin's dad, and High King Margo. 👑

For the S3 finale Will You Play With Me, Britt and Chris discuss Julia becoming a god 🌳, Fen as the stand-in High King, Quentin trying to d o card tricks for the rest of time, and the imporant theme of sacrifice. They also explore the POVs of Julia, Alice, and Eliot as they all make huge decisions.

In their final episode on Season 3 of The Magicians, Britt and Chris discuss narrative arcs, great character changes, and their favorite moments of magic this season! They also implement a special sign-off for this episode only. 🐇
