Britt and Chris cover The Flying Forest, discussing Fillory Clinton, Eliot's #doppelbanger, the White Lady, and the many problems with Children of Earth 'ruling' Fillory. They think about the POVs of Julia, Margo, and Penny, and also explore the themes of romanticized adventure epics, trying to live two lives at once, and the question of how much you have to lose to no longer be yourself.
Britt and Chris discuss Cheat Day, focusing on the Foo Fighters, Mayakovsky and Penny's amusing relationship, Quentin attempting to live like a Muggle, and Julia trying to access healthcare. For Word As Bond, Britt and Chris discuss No-Shade-Julia VS Niffin-Alice, anglerbeasts and sexist dryads, the Library's million year contract, and a viewfinder that made Chris' mind go sparkly. They also discuss the theme of freedom in the episode, and the POVs of new Librarian Penny and struggling High Queen Margo.
For Lesser Evils, Britt and Chris laugh about the Les Miserables musical number as "rulers done gonna rumble," as well as discuss the yikes Fairy deal and the kidnapping of a US demi-god Senator. They also explore the constant 'lesser evil' dilemmas the cast grapple with, and think about the POVs of Eliot, Margo, and Kady in this episode.
For The Girl Who Told Time, Britt and Chris gush over Julia being a part of the Knowledge Discipline. They also discuss getting to know the Library better, a recent change in Fen's character motivations, and the big consequences of deals that were made in previous episodes. They wrap up the episode exploring the POVs of stressed wedding-planner-Eliot and remorseful shadeless-Julia.
For The Rattening, Britt and Chris have fun venturing into the Underworld. They discuss Julia reuniting with the Free Traders, Eliot getting kicked out of Fillory, and Librarian Zelda shutting Penny down in the most devastating way. They also explore the themes of control, and the POVs of Eliot, Julia, and Senator Gaines.
For Ramifications, Britt and Chris laugh about Margo's inability to say 'please,' talking beavers demanding dental care, and another return of Mayakovsky. They also discuss Alice returning to her human body, ideas of fate and being a good person, and the POVs of side-lined Kady and banished Eliot.
For the Season 2 Finale, Britt and Chris laugh about sconces, the Plumber of the Gods, and too many right angles in Umber's Not-Cuba. They discuss balance, the human condition, nothing ever being fixed, and also explore the POVs of ever-magical Julia, poisoned Penny, and Fembot Nick Fury.
Britt and Chris talk about their favorite spells of the season and the characters they've seen differently this watch-through. They also discuss S2 themes of who Fillory is for and how much a person can lose before they're no longer themself.
