After absolutely loving our miniseries on Songbirds and Snakes, we knew it was time to do a read-along book podcast of The Hunger Games trilogy! During 2022, we discussed 2-3 chapters per episode and made sure to announce spoilers so first-time readers could easily skip them. 🏹🔥🍞
In each of our episodes, we had an amazing time exploring things we noticed for the first time, side character POVs, historical and current events that connect our world to Panem, and so much more.

Jumping into the first two chapters of The Hunger Games reminds us all why Suzanne Collins is a genius and everyone should read her books.
There are so many fascinating things to explore in Chapters 3-4, including Madge's goodbye and gift, mentor-mentee relationships, and when we really think Peeta's crush turned into a full-on love for Katniss.
Our conversation on Chapters 5-6 includes new Cinna obversations, Effie doing more than her job, internalized standards of beauty, Opening Ceremony horses and fans, and so much more!
In Chapters 7-8 we look at everything from Rue choosing to shadow Katniss and Peeta , to Katniss shooting at the Gamemakers, to Haymitch using the irkdearment 'sweatheart', to food, food, and more food!
